India has named a 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, co-hosted by Sri Lanka and India. Suryakumar Yadav retains captaincy despite poor form—244 runs in his last 22 innings. All-rounder Axar Patel will serve as vice-captain. Shubman Gill misses out after a lean patch, scoring just 291 runs in 15 games. Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan returns to the squad after impressing in domestic cricket, having last played for India in 2023. India, the defending champions, will also face New Zealand in five T20Is before the World Cup kicks off.
