President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is scheduled to depart for the United States on 22 September to attend the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). During the visit, he is expected to hold bilateral meetings with several world leaders and meet UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
Following his engagements in New York, the President will travel to Japan on 26 September on a state visit. While in Japan, he will attend the World Expo International Trade Fair on 27 September and engage in high-level discussions with senior Japanese officials.
