Prime Minister Highlights Role of Education and President’s Fund in Student Recognition
Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya stated that the core aim of national education policies is to provide quality education that fosters a well-developed, humane, and responsible society.
In a message shared on social media, she emphasized that the President’s Fund, which was once accessible to only a limited few, has now been transformed into a public resource. According to her, a portion of the fund has been allocated for education this year, and recognizing top performers of the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination is one of its notable initiatives.
She made these comments while participating in the award ceremony held at the Kandy District Secretariat on September 14, organized to honor the top achievers of the 2023/2024 G.C.E. (A.L.) examination through scholarships and awards.
