Israeli forces have killed 53 Palestinians and destroyed 16 buildings, including three residential towers, in Gaza City as part of a renewed offensive to capture the area and displace civilians.
At least 35 deaths occurred in Gaza City alone, with two additional deaths from malnutrition, raising the hunger-related toll to 422, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
The al-Kawthar tower in the Remal neighborhood was among those struck, forcing tens of thousands to flee. Displaced residents report having nowhere safe to go.
Gaza’s Government Media Office accused Israel of “systematic bombing” of civilian infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, mosques, and humanitarian offices.
UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini confirmed that 10 UN buildings have been hit in the past four days.
